Our Purpose

“Protecting the Amazon is not only an environmental imperativeit is a social one. Our work ensures that Indigenous communities can thrive without destroying their home, creating a balance between conservation and sustainable development.”

Who We Are

Human Forest is a Colombia-based social enterprise, connecting international partners with impactful forest conservation to mitigate climate change. We develop and implement high-quality REDD+ projects that protect the Amazon, empower indigenous communities, and create measurable climate benefits. Through our certified carbon credits, we offer companies and investors a tangible and affordable way to neutralize emissions, communicate their sustainability efforts to stakeholders, and strengthen their environmental reputation.

Our Mission

We believe that environmental protection and social development must go hand in hand. By integrating indigenous knowledge with most advanced conservation strategies, we provide sustainable alternatives to deforestation while ensuring long-term economic and social resilience for local communities and families. Our work directly contributes to multiple UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), from climate action (SDG 13) and biodiversity protection (SDG 15) to poverty reduction (SDG 1) and economic growth (SDG 8).

What We Do

Through our initiative, we protect millions of hectares of rainforest, preventing CO₂ emissions while driving positive change over time. But our impact goes beyond carbon reduction: we implement 15 integrated programs that enhance education, healthcare, infrastructure, and economic opportunities for indigenous families. In what we do, we see ourselves as advisors and facilitators, not decision-makers. We provide technical and financial guidance, ensuring that project outcomes directly benefit the communities. However, it is the indigenous peoples themselves who take the lead, making the key decisions about their land and future. Our role is to support them in building sustainable, autonomous development pathways that respect their cultural heritage while improving their quality of life.

What Makes Us Different

We work on the ground in Colombia, maintaining close, continuous engagement with indigenous communities through regular visits, and ensuring direct and equitable sharing of benefits. Thereby, our commitment to transparency means that we provide clear, verifiable information on highest technical standards on every aspect of our projects, to ensure accountability and deliver quality carbon credits. Finally, our lean structure allows us to maximize funding efficiency, making every investment in Human Forest both climate-effective and socially responsible.
