Environmental Impact

This project preserves over 400 million tCO₂e in forest biomass and will deliver verified net reductions of 71.6 million tCO₂e. Certified under Cercarbono (ICROA-endorsed), it is validated by Icontec, verified by Versa, and officially listed in the EcoRegistry. With strong environmental safeguards, San Felipe supports SDGs 13 and 15.

Social Results

Four healthcare staff operate across 25 service sites. Thirty solar panels have been installed. The project created 42 jobs and supports 18 students in higher education. It works with the Curripaco and Yeral communities. Upcoming goals include better housing and bridges, churches, and guest facilities.

Please note: The project was expanded at the request of neighboring Indigenous communities, which is why it appears in two parts.

The CERCARBONO “REDD+ Methodology for the Implementation of REDD+ Projects Consistent with National Reference Levels” quantifies emissions reductions from avoided deforestation by integrating rigorous carbon accounting with community-led conservation efforts.
It ensures environmental integrity through satellite monitoring, sustainable land-use planning, and the active participation of indigenous and local communities. For more details, visit
